2026-02-11

Dr. Ayed bin Dabsan Al-Qahtani, CEO of Thani Bin Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation, affirmed that the Foundation represents one of the key pillars of charitable and humanitarian work in the State of Qatar. The Foundation operates based on a clear vision derived from Qatar National Vision 2030, Islamic Sharia principles, and universal human values, aiming to build a cohesive society that enjoys stability and dignity.
He explained that through its diverse programs and projects, the Foundation seeks to support needy groups among both citizens and residents, through an integrated system that ensures transparency and coordination with relevant stakeholders.
Dr. Al-Qahtani noted that the Foundation adopts a scientific and organizational methodology that considers the economic, social, and cultural dimensions of Qatari society, and works according to well-studied mechanisms in project design, implementation, and impact measurement.
He also highlighted the significant role played by Thani Bin Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation in strengthening social protection and family cohesion, in line with the state’s sustainable development goals, affirming that the Foundation has become a model for effective institutional charitable work based on giving and benevolence.
Dr. Al-Qahtani stressed that the Foundation operates exclusively within the State of Qatar and gives special attention to projects such as relieving distressed families, supporting youth marriage, caring for widows, divorcees, and prisoners’ families, supporting students unable to pay tuition fees, assisting patients, providing Iftar for fasting people, water supply initiatives, and other humanitarian programs.
He praised the unlimited support of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, for charitable work, as well as governmental and institutional support that has enabled the Foundation to expand its programs and achieve tangible results on the ground.
Working for Humanity
Dr. Al-Qahtani explained that the Foundation is based on the principle that every human being has the right to live a dignified life, regardless of race, culture, or affiliation. Hence, its slogan “Giving for Humanity” reflects the values of charity and benevolence and embodies the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) saying:
"The believers, in their mutual kindness, compassion, and sympathy, are like one body; when any part of it suffers, the whole body responds with sleeplessness and fever."
As well as the slogan: “Together to Build a Cohesive Society.”
He added that the Foundation views giving as a means to achieve social cohesion, and that its services are directed to all who live in Qatar, citizens and residents alike, without discrimination, while adhering to religious and humanitarian values.
Alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030
Dr. Al-Qahtani stated that the Foundation places Qatar National Vision 2030 at the heart of its work, which is based on four pillars:
Economic development by supporting family stability to enhance productivity.
Social development through social protection and community cohesion.
Human development by supporting education and capacity building.
Environmental development through initiatives such as “Water Supply” and “Cool Them” projects.
He emphasized that the Foundation’s projects directly contribute to the national social protection strategy to ensure safe and stable living conditions for all members of society.
Clear Regulatory Framework
Dr. Al-Qahtani noted that the Foundation adheres to the Regulatory Guidelines for Internal Aid Projects issued by the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities in October 2020, which serve as a key reference for policies and standards governing aid delivery, ensuring justice and transparency.
Integrated Humanitarian Methodology
He stressed that charitable work goes beyond financial or food assistance to include program design, studies, project implementation, and impact measurement. The Foundation relies on digital platforms such as the Charitable Work Portal and the “Sandi” system to ensure efficient and transparent management of aid and to prevent duplication or misuse of resources.
