His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Thani bin Abdullah Al Thani, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Thani Bin Abdullah Humanitarian Services Foundation, inaugurated — on behalf of Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Al Thani, Chairman of the Board — The Khair Giving Ceremony, during which the Foundation officially announced the launch of its charitable and humanitarian activities within the State of Qatar.
The ceremony was held today at Galleria Hall in Al Hazm Mall, where the Foundation revealed its most prominent developmental and humanitarian projects and programs for the year 2026, as part of its efforts to strengthen its presence in the community and consolidate its role in serving humanity and development.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani; His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Minister of Environment and Climate Change; Her Excellency Ms. Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, Minister of Education and Higher Education; His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau and Secretary-General of the National Planning Council; His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanim Al Thani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs; His Excellency Mr. Khalifa bin Issa Al Kuwari, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Family; in addition to a number of accredited ambassadors, scholars, and media representatives.
During the ceremony, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Thani bin Abdullah Al Thani honored a number of distinguished “Impact Makers” who have played an important role in the journey of humanitarian and charitable work in the State of Qatar.
Leadership Remarks
In his speech, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Thani bin Abdullah Al Thani stated:
“Thani Bin Abdullah Humanitarian Services Foundation firmly believes that goodness is a collective effort that can only flourish through the solidarity of sincere individuals, genuine and effective partnerships, and hands that carry the concern for humanity everywhere. From this standpoint, we affirm today that we are intermediaries of goodness on your behalf — your arm that delivers kindness and transforms your sincere intentions into real impact that touches people’s lives and makes a true difference.”
He added that, in line with the guidance of Qatar’s wise leadership and inspired by the statement of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar — may God protect him — who said:
“Humanitarian work is our strategic political choice at the regional and international levels. It is our humanitarian duty before being a political one, and we do not boast of it to anyone.”
He affirmed that the Foundation adopts this noble direction as a guiding principle, believing that giving is not a temporary stance, but rather a state approach, a leadership choice, and a deeply rooted value in Qatar’s vision and humanitarian message.
He further emphasized that the Foundation’s initiatives are aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030 and consistent with the Third National Development Strategy (2024–2030), embodying the concept of responsible humanitarian work, sustainable development, and effective community partnership, with the human being at the center of attention and the ultimate goal of all efforts.
His Excellency confirmed that the Foundation’s projects have been carefully designed under the supervision of Qatari experts with extensive experience in humanitarian and charitable work, based on field studies, realistic assessments of community needs, prioritization, and ensuring the highest levels of impact and sustainability.
CEO’s Statement
Dr. Ayed bin Dabsan Al-Qahtani, CEO of the Foundation, stated that the ceremony reflects the Foundation’s commitment to transparency, efficiency, and good governance in managing charitable work, and aims to provide an open platform for the public and partners to learn about its sustainable humanitarian initiatives.
He explained that the Foundation is proud to adopt a wide range of projects serving various segments of society within Qatar, supervised by a distinguished group of leaders in humanitarian, charitable, and social work to ensure high-quality implementation and effective outcomes.
Dr. Al-Qahtani reiterated that charitable work is a collective effort that flourishes through sincere cooperation, effective partnerships, and hands that carry concern for humanity everywhere, stressing that the Foundation serves as a bridge for goodness and a channel that transforms intentions into tangible impact.
He also emphasized alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy (2024–2030), ensuring responsible humanitarian work, sustainable development, and impactful community partnerships.
He praised all supporters and partners whose contributions have left a lasting impact, affirming that their generosity does not only meet needs but also creates hope and builds a better future.
Key Projects for 2026
The Foundation launched a wide range of developmental and charitable projects, managed with high professionalism, including:
Tibyan Project
Printing and distributing the Holy Qur’an and its approved translations in multiple languages to mosques, schools, and communities, ensuring reliable access to the meanings of the Qur’an for non-Arabic speakers.
Kifaf Project
A comprehensive social umbrella to support underprivileged families through four main tracks:
• Kanaf: Economic empowerment of widows and divorcees.
• Kifaf: Providing essential household appliances to needy families.
• Muwasah: Direct financial assistance to ease living burdens.
• Eafaf: Supporting Qatari youth preparing for marriage through financial assistance to reduce costs and promote stable families.
Sand Project
Field interventions to support workers, including distribution of cold water during summer and monthly in-kind assistance to enhance occupational health and safety.
Sanabil Al-Khair Project
Supporting patients, especially complex medical cases requiring specialized medical equipment and continuous humanitarian care.
Sha’eerat Al-Khair Project
Seasonal religious programs including Iftar for Fasting People and Eid Sacrifice (Udhiya) for underprivileged families and orphans, promoting dignity, mercy, and social solidarity.
Ata’a Al-Ajyal Project
Providing integrated health and social services for senior citizens and low-income individuals through home visits, medical checkups, therapeutic devices, and ongoing nutritional support.
Manarat Ilm Project
Supporting students in need through school supplies, tutoring, and technical devices to enable continuity of education.
Ahd Project
Financial awareness programs for distressed individuals and debtors, including case assessments, capacity building, and restoring financial stability.
Orphan Sponsorship Project (Kafil Al-Yateem)
Providing annual financial sponsorship for orphans in Qatar, covering living, educational, and healthcare needs to ensure a dignified and stable life.
Debtors (Al-Gharimeen) Project
Supporting eligible debtors through debt settlement and providing living support to prisoners’ families to enhance family stability.
Ghāf Training and Development Project
Training workers in the charitable sector and empowering productive families through specialized training and providing physical and electronic charity markets.
